Too Many Toy Fair in 2017 Q4

After the STGCC2017, there have been numerous toy fair across the island. However, they are not the typical toy fair selling stuffs available in retail. They are Japanese toy fair.

Firstly, there was the GunPla Expo at CompassOne which also sells Star Wars model kits. Lucky the fair extended up to payday and I sure had my revenge going again (I was crazy that I couldn't afford on my first visit).
Well, I went there 3 times. First to scout, second to get the Clone Troopers and Death troopers which I've gotten one of the Death Star Base kit. Lastly, I went again to accompany a friend for his Gundam find but I ended up getting the searched Scout Trooper and Speeder bike. I've also succumbed into getting the miniature vehicle set which I displayed at my workstation.

The next toy fair was a Toy Carnival at National Design Centre which wasn't as interesting. Lucky I managed to save some from that fair.

The next toy fair was Isetan's Japanese Toy Fair at Nex which featured Bandai Tamashii Nations selections. I went crazy again.
I had multiple figures in hand that I've decided to let go of some. I've practice the bare hand-carry method to limit myself from overspending by the use of a basket. I've gotten another 2 miniature Star Wars vehicle model, a tryout on the DragonBall Z FigureRise Standard to compare with my SHFiguart figures and something for the upcoming niece's birthday.

There were other toy fairs spawning all over the island but I had to stop myself from overspending as I had saved up for a KL toyhunt during Christmas.

STGCC 2017

It was the 10th Singapore Toy Games Comics Convention (STGCC) in 2017 and that would be my 7th year I've been there. Most of the time I would have gone alone but after getting to know some other fellow collectors, I have a companion to share my geek moments for the past 3 years.
Spoils from STGCC
The main highlight for me was the toy offers especially from Bandai Tamashii Nations booth where Star Wars Model Kits were going at a cheaper price than retail. I had been gunning for the newly released General Grievous.

Other than that, I've gotten myself a PandaInk Hike toy which would be great for my travelling figure. There were other stuffs from the "tikam-tikam" from Handsome Studio and a signed issue of the latest Mr Kiasu comics.

I need to better prepare myself in terms of expenses for the next STGCC 2018.

Toys Galore

I haven't been putting a stop to my toys purchased and I should really slow down or eventually stop. Though how could one stop when there are so much wonderful toys being released.

Firstly, Revoltech came out with an awesome Yamaguchi Marvel line which are so awesome in terms of points of articulation and character.
All time favorite Marvel character
Coolest female character
Secondly, I find an interest in arts and with the recent Figma table series, Edvard Munch The Scream figure is the coolest table figure. It may not have many point of articulation.
Next, I added a new figure to my Pose Skeleton figure. I need to find a new storage for these collection as currently, they are compactly stored in a box. Plus I left most of the collection at work as a contingency plan during down time.

Lastly, I can never stop on Transformers collection. It's still the best toy I've known.
I have not even watch the latest movie but I find this character suitable for some cross series figure photography.
My latest Victory Series combiners haul by third party.

Eurotrip

The main trip for 2017 was to Paris and London. I took the opportunity to visit these places as I was having a UniSIM module in Cranfield University.

While in Paris:
Bough a SuperDry t-shirt for a friend but ended getting the wrong size. It's mine now I guess
I remembered seeing Adult rompers and I came across a shop that sells one-piece clothing which was cool.
Some shops in Paris would display both Euro and GBP prices and the GBP prices were cheaper after conversion. So I held back to shop in London instead.
First up, Primark. I don't understand the hype about Primark. Everything seems like a poor quality and the prices are just relatively cheaper. I would still go to H&M to shop. Initially I grabbed tons of stuffs but placed back most of it due to needs vs wants. I ended getting the a Star Wars t-shirt and bedsheets for the upcoming Hari Raya. I gotten some clothing for the little ones too.
Souvenirs from British Museum
HMV was letting go 5 for 30 GBP. That is cheaper than Primark
Sales rack on Urban Outfitter
Gotten this Original Penguin Polo in London is cheaper than Paris
Time to change my wallet to Bottega Veneta
Went to Bicester Village and only managed to grab this awesome polo by Paul Smith
Been searching for the right pair of NMD as mostly are SHIT UGLY. Found this great pair from JDSport exclusive.
This was a shockingly cheap find.

Post Birthday Quick Retreat - Kuala Lumpur

It felt a bit sad that I had no travel plans for 2 consecutive years for my birthday. So I decided to make do a quick trip on my own to Kuala Lumpur for the much need break and shop and eat.
Some books from Kinokuniya are a must as they are cheaper
Another kind of Pose Skeleton figures I had some photography inspiration on
A sale item from SPAO
A bit too much checkered top but I loved this Muji top since Singapore
I found the Tamashii Nation store in Malaysia and some of the items are dirt cheap. Just had to get
I was looking for this to complete my Headmaster series. Lucky to have found it at Toys R Us KLIA2 and the privileged membership to have gotten half price for this rare item.
Another airport purchase but in Singapore instead.

Parcels after Parcels

The shopping doesn't end and it went online. I've purchased so many things online during the month of March and it is still pouring in.
Parcel 1:
Trying out Kinokuniya Online Store. Had a great time reading Manga, especially after knowing about Ultraman Sequel
Wasn't really an online purchase but I've been contemplating in getting this from eBay. I was lucky to have gotten this from a physical shop, the same price as the lowest price I've found in eBay
Parcel 2:
After getting to try SHFiguarts during my trip in Guangzhou, I was amazed by the articulation and went crazy. This was bought from eBay at a dirt cheap price. Once I received it, I had a feeling that it was a bootleg most probably it came from a China seller. Well, the figure is still great.
Parcel 3:
This was the main figure I wanted to get from SHFiguarts which I found in Carousell. The seller had it cheap and his location was very convenient to deal.
Parcel 4:
Figma Table Series seems like a very cool figure and it is. Love the play-ability of it. To make use of the shipping charges, I've added in my expansion of Pose Skeleton figures.
Parcel 5:
Continued ordering the rest of the Ultraman Manga from Books Depository. Had a blast reading them
Not a parcel but I was passing by Kinokuniya at JEM and found this lovely local publications.
Parcel 6:
Going Ultraman Frenzy
Parcel 7:
Last Parcel for the month/post.
That's it. 7 parcels and some quick buys in the month of March. If only I did it for the month of April, it would be a great birthday celebration. Wait, I think I have 1 parcel coming in for April. Woohoo...

Revenge Shopping

Since I didn't shop on both trips, I took it out shopping in Singapore instead.
New games. My Xbox 360 died on me and I couldn't play the latest Tomb Raider I've bought for it. So I had to get another copy on a different platform.
Saw this while getting the game. Well, just in time for the latest Generation that was released soon after.
New tech to play Pokemon Go. Crazy, NO! Just needed to utilise my re-contract.
New phone, new cover
An impulsive buy actually
Started reading Manga somehow
Another book along the way

Unexpected Find - Guangzhou

I had my reservist called up right after Chinese New Year and it lasted for 2 weeks, ending in the middle of the week. Hence I decided to extend my absence from work and explore another China city. I've heard so much about Guangzhou from my cousin so I bought a flight there.

I was impressed with Guangzhou, a slight different from the rest of the China cities that I've been to. I had an easy time with food as there were lots of halal restaurants but was quite disappointed with my shopping. Exported brands are still expensive even on this part of China.

However due to a wholesale city, there were lots of cheap stuffs to buy. Lucky I wasn't drawn to such things but I was looking for a drone. It took me a while to find the right one and finally bought one from Toys R Us.
Pretty awesome stuff here. Small and light weight but an ass to control.
I stumbled upon a Bandai Tamashii display store and managed to talk the owner. Found out, he was actually the main distributor for Bandai in Guangzhou. We had a great time talking about stuffs, unlike the overly-geeky ones I had conversations with. He was nice enough to exchange contacts and he directed me to find all the great toyshops in Guangzhou. The place he recommended was heaven, similar to Singapore's China Square Central and the prices are close to those I saw in Hong Kong. I didn't really expect much shopping done, so I didn't change a lot of currency.
Finally owned myself a Masterpiece Grimlock.

CNY in Jakarta

This is a first after numerous years that I've decided to go on a trip during Chinese New year. Normally, I would stay in Singapore and visit the Art Science Museum and do some light shopping at Marina Bay Sands. This year however, I decided to venture Jakarta on my own. I didn't really shop much as most of the stuffs there were past season somehow. So I only managed to grab this few.
My goggles gave way during my last holiday. I had to get a replacement.
Been wanting a trench and this was dirt cheap from Zara.
Found Kinokuniya there and I had to update my library especially with Murakami's books.
This was kind of an impulse buy to finish up my Rupiah. Then I realised I needed to replace my current almost-torn bag.
