Unexpected Find - Guangzhou

I had my reservist called up right after Chinese New Year and it lasted for 2 weeks, ending in the middle of the week. Hence I decided to extend my absence from work and explore another China city. I've heard so much about Guangzhou from my cousin so I bought a flight there.

I was impressed with Guangzhou, a slight different from the rest of the China cities that I've been to. I had an easy time with food as there were lots of halal restaurants but was quite disappointed with my shopping. Exported brands are still expensive even on this part of China.

However due to a wholesale city, there were lots of cheap stuffs to buy. Lucky I wasn't drawn to such things but I was looking for a drone. It took me a while to find the right one and finally bought one from Toys R Us.
Pretty awesome stuff here. Small and light weight but an ass to control.
I stumbled upon a Bandai Tamashii display store and managed to talk the owner. Found out, he was actually the main distributor for Bandai in Guangzhou. We had a great time talking about stuffs, unlike the overly-geeky ones I had conversations with. He was nice enough to exchange contacts and he directed me to find all the great toyshops in Guangzhou. The place he recommended was heaven, similar to Singapore's China Square Central and the prices are close to those I saw in Hong Kong. I didn't really expect much shopping done, so I didn't change a lot of currency.
Finally owned myself a Masterpiece Grimlock.

CNY in Jakarta

This is a first after numerous years that I've decided to go on a trip during Chinese New year. Normally, I would stay in Singapore and visit the Art Science Museum and do some light shopping at Marina Bay Sands. This year however, I decided to venture Jakarta on my own. I didn't really shop much as most of the stuffs there were past season somehow. So I only managed to grab this few.
My goggles gave way during my last holiday. I had to get a replacement.
Been wanting a trench and this was dirt cheap from Zara.
Found Kinokuniya there and I had to update my library especially with Murakami's books.
This was kind of an impulse buy to finish up my Rupiah. Then I realised I needed to replace my current almost-torn bag.

Winter Japan

Yeah, it's my second trip to Japan for 2016 and it was quite a blast. Even though I'm there as a guide, I managed to grabbed the following hauls.
A new Head Porter toiletries bag
Another Porter bag by Kura Chika, a medium size sling bag
I broke my Bose earphones while on flight, broke the jack when I got up to make way for the window seat passenger. Snagged this Monster at a rather cheap price.
What's Japan without toys? Held back buying these in Singapore as it's double the price.
My growing collection of work boredom
Couldn't get my jinbei but I found the best alternative
Some sale items from Adidas that I couldn't pass
Now this was some sort of impulsive buy but who wouldn't...
So nice to hug and make as a head pillow.,

More Collection Galore

The November batch of pre-orders arrived and was super excited for them. It felt so exhilarating opening up a box with tons of toys in it.
Transformers Masterpiece MP-33 Inferno
3 of 4 TMNT (Ralph)
4 of 4 TMNT (Mikey)
More Pose Skeleton Figures and Accessories
Another local pre-order I collected was quite thrilling. Its a combiner link up to MP Star Saber to form Victory Saber. It may not be produced by Takara-Tomy but the figure is a solid as the original brand.

Latest Wave of Collections

Second half of the year are normally a busy period for me and a financial crunch too. I don't get to spend as much as the earlier months. Most of the purchase thereafter are all my collections or geek stuff.
Pre-STGCC purchase. Saw these in 2015 but it was too expensive. Gotten it at a quarter of the actual price from Facebook Collectors group.
I had the chance to go STGCC this year with a friend. There were so many awesome things to get but I streamlined my collection and only bought those that I really like.
Deadpool-centric with the Cos-Baby out of impulse and the Deadpool Tee that I wanted to get the previous year. The Star Wars postcards were something I bought to snap and use it as my mobile wallpaper
Another addition to the Titan Return Headmasters
Lastly, I've pre-ordered quite a handfull of stuffs from AmiAmi and the first wave is up for delivery.
1 of 4 super pose-able TMNT
2 of 4 TMNT
I've been having a blast with Pose Skeleton. Want to get more!!!

51st NDP

The 51st National Day is on Tuesday so I begged for an annual leave on Monday so I can have four days to fly out of Singapore. Yes, I'm not that patriotic. However, I really wonder why I agreed to go on a holiday that period because it's SUMMER. I told myself not to do it again ever since my summer experience in Shanghai.

This time round we went to another Chinese region which is Hong Kong. I travelled with Evelyn and Hakimbo who intimidate me with another toy hunt after my Japan disappointment. Truth be told, I did enjoy shopping in Hong Kong this time round. I've gotten all that I've hoped for.
The Hong Kong ToyHunt was more fruitful than the one in Japan:
Top Left: Transformers Titan Returns Head Masters
Top Right: Meisho Star Wars Taikoyaku Stormtrooper - Managed to get it dirtcheap
Bottom Left: TFC Hades Aikos - Bought it cheaper than my pre-order hence I had to cancel
Bottom Right: Star Wars Disney Store Exclusive General Grievious and Darth Maul - Meant to resell

I know I have tons of clothes but I just can't not buy them:
Top Left: COS V-neck T-shirt - I just love teh fabric
Top Right: H&M Sports running jacket - It look so sleek
Bottom Left: H&M hooded T-shirt - Just love it
Bottom Right: Zara Camo Mandarin Collar Shirt - On sale

Other than that, I love the rest that I've gotten:
Top: Books from Page One, I love books
Bottom Left: Yoshida Porter Hong Kong Exclusive Pouch
Bottom Right: Adidas Original X700
